Get to Know Dr. Gavin Ip BSc, DDS, MSc, Dent Anes, Dentist Anaesthesiologist
Dr. Gavin Ip earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario, where he received a Bachelor of Medical Science Honour Specialization degree with distinction in biochemistry. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honours at the University of Toronto. While there, he received the Horace Wells Medal in his class for outstanding achievement in anaesthesia.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Gavin Ip went on to pursue his three-year residency and his master's degree in dental anaesthesia at the University of Toronto. He now works as a part-time clinical instructor at the Surgery Center at the University of Toronto.
In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Gavin Ip is a member of the American Society of Dental Anesthesia (ASDA), Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia (CADA), Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesiology (ODSA), and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA).
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Gavin Ip enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son as well as their two poodles who are spoiled rotten! Dr. Gavin Ip also enjoys a wide range of activities, including model building, playing piano, archery, and target shooting. Dr. Ip considers himself to be a kid at heart. He is a big fan of superheroes and animated movies. "I get really excited about any upcoming superhero or Disney or Pixar movies. To this day, I still collect superhero figures!"
