Get to Know Dr. Jonathan Campbell DDH, DDS, MSc. Dent Anes (Dentist Anaesthesiologist)

Dr. Campbell is proud to be a part-owner and dental anaesthesiologist at SmileTown – Waterloo. With over 18 years of experience in practice, to this day, his favorite part of his job is being able to help a child in need. Read on to learn more about Dr. Jonathan Campbell’s training and what inspired him to go into the dental field.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

When Dr. Campbell was young, he broke his two front teeth in an accident. Fortunately, he had a wonderful dentist who gave him back his smile. He’ll never forget how grateful he was and how that shaped his future by inspiring him to become a dentist himself.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Campbell attended the University of Toronto for his undergraduate studies and the University of Minnesota, where he earned his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree. He then went on to complete a three-year residency in dental anaesthesiology at the University of Toronto. Now, he’s recognized as a certified dental anaesthesiology specialist as designated by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Today, he’s proud to say that he has successfully provided care to over 10,000 patients!

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Whenever Dr. Campbell isn’t at the dental office, he loves spending time with his wife and daughter. Together, they’re always looking for the next adventure and a delicious meal! You can also find him woodworking, travelling and enjoying all of the delicious foods each location has to offer, skiing and snowboarding, and fishing.

An interesting fact about Dr. Campbell is that he used to be a garbage collector, and then an arborist, while he was in university!
