Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Andrew-Christian Adams
BHSc, DDS, MSc (Dental Anaesthesia), Dentist Anaesthesiologist

Dr. Adams is part owner of our SmileTown kids dental offices. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at London, Ontario’s Western University, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010. From there he practiced two years in general practice before focusing his career on receiving specialty training in dental anaesthesia with an MSc. in barriers and access to deep sedation and general anaesthesia for dental patients in Ontario. He is a Diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Appreciating the changes in technology, Dr. Adams makes it a priority to keep up-to-date on children’s dentistry, restorative dentistry techniques as well as anaesthesia and sedation. Though he enjoys all aspects of children’s dentistry, he has a real passion for root canal therapy and associated research, to help save primary as well as permanent teeth. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, Ontario Dental Society of Anesthesiology (past president), Canadian Academy of Dental Anesthesia (Webmaster and general member), American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists. It is vital for Dr. Adams to ensure that both his patients and their parents understand the treatment as well as provide excellent informed consent. This includes explaining the diagnosis of the child’s teeth, options for repairing them, as well as the alternatives and the prognosis of these treatments. This especially holds true during anesthesia treatment, as he believes patient safety is always the number one priority, patient comfort is number two and then teeth are next. Outside of work and family time, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys being outside, being on or near the water as well as travelling around Ontario. Dr. Adams is a huge Formula One fan and is currently learning to play the guitar, which he admits has been a very humbling experience.
